Oratan Attack Imminent

The IFN have been monitoring the activity of the Oratan around the western and central part of the Arkadian Desert region, for unknown reasons they seem to have become even more aggressive then previously perceived.

Several commando teams have been sent out to gather intel about this recent change to the Oratan behavior. With the intel that's been gathered by the teams, the analysts have been able to decipher that there is most likely a heavy assault coming at Repulse Firebase.

If you are able to lend support, please assemble at REPULSE FIREBASE (Coordinates 15015, 15047).

The attack are estimated to hit on Friday the 31st October 2014 @ 19:00 and expected to end on Sunday the 2nd of November 2014 @ 19:00

The Oratan are, once again, likely to be throwing all they have at this base including the largest and strongest warriors they can muster.
Please arrive early and ensure all equipment is clean and in good repair, and you have adequate supplies of ammunition.

Cyrene Dynamic Upgrade Map - October 28th 2014

Cyrene Dynamic Upgrade Map - October 28th 2014

Before everything let me just say Cyrene hard launch is sheduled for the end of 2014. How cool is that.

Introduction:

This is the Cyrene Dynamic Upgrade Map. This will show the progression of the different land areas based on player activity here on Planet Cyrene. As the areas progress through their levels they will undergo upgrades or unlocks based upon their level. If any particular are stagnates or has low progression there will be some side effects in that particular area as well.

So, in short, if you want an area to change:

- Complete missions
- Interact with creatures
- Mine for resources in it

The following shows the current available land areas and their level 1 and level 2 available upgrades. Additional upgrades will be available in the future at higher levels.

Land Areas:

Great Plains
  • Level 1 - New Mang Chang & Rhino Beetle maturities.
  • Level 2 - Pet maturities of Mang Chang and Rhino Beetle (although the details are still being hammered out with MindArk)
Ice Plateau
  • Level 1 – Zyn’Nix come out of hiding with additional story and daily missions.
  • Level 2 – Summon the lord of the Ice Crystal Golems in a boss summon event.
Imperium Fortifications
  • Level 1 – Dedicated Imperium Officer spawn.
  • Level 2 - Imperium Trials wave spawn event.
Isle de Zel
  • Level 1 – Additional Zeladoth maturities.
  • Level 2 – Zeladoth wave event and associated with a mission.
Mer Beach
  • Level 1 - Additional Merfolken Gladiator maturities.
  • Level 2 - An underwater Mefolken hunting ground.
Ngu Volcano
  • Level 1 – A dedicated spawn of Old Jack.
  • Level 2 – A new magma chamber opened to explore.
Panton Jungle
  • Level 1 - Paneleon Kill Point mission.
  • Level 2 - A new creature with maturity range and Iron Missions.
Robot Base Z.R.Q.
  • Level 1 - Additional Skyshatter maturites.
  • Level 2 - A new creature with maturity range and Iron Missions.
Turrelion Desert
  • Level 1 – Additional Living Vortex maturities.
  • Level 2 – Duster Gang Item Spawn PvP Area.
Zyn Forest
  • Level 1 - A new scavenger hunt mission unique to the Zyn.
  • Level 2 – Zyn Pyramid Spirit Shaman mission.

Some areas can only be upgraded through other areas progression; these areas are called Meta Areas. The requirements to upgrade and the level 1 upgrade are listed for the following.

Meta Areas:

A.R.C. Staging
  • 5 Areas are at least level 1.
  • Upgraded staging area and Turrelion Area with additional content.
Miner Isles
  • All Areas are at least level 1.
  • Special Mining Zone with Additional Mining Missions.
Sky Labs
  • All Areas are at least level 2.
  • Animal Behavior and Modification Laboratory Instance.
Closing:

Keep in mind that other changes to the Planet Cyrene will happen that are not part of the dynamic upgrade map. These changes will happen independent of other new things that will come, like missions, items, and events.

Any discussion about this can be done so here: >>LINK<<

Thanks for reading and thanks for playing on Planet Cyrene.

Planet Cyrene is Alive and Advertising

Hello everyone,

I did want to talk a bit about the current and future marketing of Planet Cyrene. In the past during the soft launch we already reached out to a couple different game review sites:

FPS General

Massively

Games Radar

These reviews while not overwhelmingly positive did give us some traction with new players coming and seeing what we have to offer. That being said it also showed some of our short comings and bugs that have come different VUs.

As of this VU we have already started to market domestically here in Thailand running TV commercials and have been getting some traction from them.

This current VU that is coming out is precursor to our Hard Launch, and that means we'll be showing off new areas and where / what changes can happen based off player progression as well as working with MindArk to ramp up our marketing for Planet Cyrene.

Our expected roll out for Hard Launch will be Q4 of 2014 where we'll be preparing the following:

- Factions (starting with A.R.C. faction story missions and rewards)
- PvP Mech Battles
- Shops and Apartments
- A marketing plan that will be co-developed with MindArk's experienced marketing manager.

I hope this clears up out marketing and future plans for Planet Cyrene until the year's end.

Cheers,
Kris

Any attempt at abusing team mechanics or any other Entropia Universe systems or features in order to gain an unfair advantage over other participants will be grounds for disqualification from the event, forfeiture of any prizes, and possible sanctions imposed on one’s Entropia Universe account.

Do not abandon the mission! If you abandon the mission for any reason, either intentionally or accidentally, all points earned up to that point will be lost forever. Support cannot and will not restore points for abandoned missions, regardless of the situation.

Hunting People with Creature control in Big Bulk Form

Hunting People in Big Bulk Form

Creature control Entropia universe Big bulk Strash

CDF General Announcement

Careful review of the Data Storage Units (DSUs) recovered from The Core below Hadesheim earlier this year has yielded intriguing results. Each DSU apparently contains information about the location of technology caches, as well as instructions on how to open them. Further, evidence suggests that the technology in these caches was developed by the RX units during their alliance with the robots before the War Titan event, then hidden as their pact dissolved.

Determined to retrieve these caches before the robots, the CDF and RDI have jointly dispatched excavation teams to the sites mentioned in the DSUs. To prevent the robots from reaching the target sites first, multiple teams standing by to assist.

Developer Notes 9 - Version Update 15.0 Preview

Taming

As announced in an earlier Buzz article, Version Update 15.0 brings Taming back to Entropia Universe. In this first phase, each planet will feature one low-level tamable creature:

  • Arkadia - Nusul Puny
  • Calypso - Bristlehog Puny
  • Cyrene - Young Arret
  • Rocktropia - Panther Puny
  • Toulan - Tabtab Puny

Existing pets work as they did in the old taming system, though those types of creatures cannot currently be tamed. Additional tamable creatures will be added in future Version Updates.

Shrapnel

Shrapnel, a new stackable resource, will be introduced to hunting loot in VU 15.0.

All creatures on all planets will drop this new resource as a symbolic representation of salvaged battle debris, regardless of the type of weapon(s) used to defeat the creature. Shrapnel will replace a portion of the total loot value formerly dropped in the form of ammo, animal oils, tier components, paint cans, etc.

Shrapnel is not used as a crafting component; instead, Shrapnel can be converted to Universal Ammo at a ratio of 100:101, or sold to the Trade Terminal at face value.

Looted Stackables

The first phase of an effort to improve the distribution of looted stackable resources will be implemented in VU 15.0, starting with a majority of Planet Calypso creatures. Veteran participants will recall how several years ago most types of looted stackables could only be looted from particular creatures.

The benefit of returning to that method of distribution is a reduction in the number of different items looted in a particular hunting session, as well as more a more interesting hunting experience that allows hunters to leverage wisdom gained from previous hunts.

Loots for creatures on other planets will be adjusted in the upcoming partner releases after 15.0.

EBN Newsflash - Increased Robot Activity

Calypso Defense Forces command has issued an urgent security alert for inhabitants of Fort Ithaca and Fort Zeus due to the sudden appearance of hostile robot forces in those areas.

Unarmed colonists are urged to evacuate immediately until the hostile robots have been repelled.
  • Fort Ithaca (69000 x 87000) - Big Bulks Gen 03 - Gen 07 - (Shared Loot)
  • Fort Zeus (87200 x 94600) - Drone Coordinators Gen 01 - Gen 10 - (Shared Loot)
CDF Intelligence warns that the appearance of Drone Coordinators on Calypso often indicates an impending invasion of larger robot forces. Accordingly, CDF reserves are being mobilized and colonist militia members are encouraged to stock up on armaments in case of a full-scale robot invasion in the near future.

Planet Cyrene October 2014 VU Preview

Hey everyone,

Kris here again for the Planet Cyrene October 7th 2014, VU Preview.

This will be a different sort of preview as this VU is a precursor to Hard Launch. The Imperium have overrun Janus, Turrelion, and A.R.C. areas with tactical orbital strikes and wave after wave of Imperium infantry.

What this means for Cyrene colonists is they will be forced to relocate to a currently uninhabited area of Cyrene. On this new relocation server we get our first glimpses of the Inverted Zyn Pyramid. As well as the Sky Labs, the giant floating science center for the Scientific Order of Cyrene.

The new area will be located here:

The other areas will be reopened in the future as part of the player driven upgrade system. Speaking about that system, in order to make it easier for players see the different areas and the different types of areas and upgrade that can happen we will be posting up a map of the area that will be updated periodically to show which areas are close to the next unlock or series of unlocks.

The new area has a centralized mission hub located near the relocated 0x101 Supply Depot, as well as the Zyn'kimbro and Tanhok missions. This area also has room for expansion for full shops and apartments (not to mention the recently sold stables).

Many of the daily missions have been streamlined, Verifier Franklin has been removed from her post and did not make her way to the new area, so the daily missions from Ron Sophiscus and Will Andrews are simpler to complete. Also the Zyn'Kimbro spawn missions have been moved to a more accessible location (which includes Lazidol).

There are also new items for the Cyrene Mission Tokens, a full set of Ozpyn Beetle armor as well as several weapons.

The majority of the creature spawns have migrated to this new area as well as some new creatures:

The Arret, one of the first mammal hybrids to appear on Cyrene. It appears that these creatures may even be able to be tamed and kept as pets.

The Crystal Ice Golem, these ice monsters are made of the same crystal material that is embedded within the glacier. These Crystal Ice Golems have driven the Zyn'Nix into hiding. If enough are cleared overtime, perhaps the Zyn'Nix will make themselves known again.

That's not to say that certain areas and upgrades won't happen. Some upgrades will happen no matter what, a few examples for the Hard Launch VU are:

- Factions (starting with A.R.C. faction story missions and rewards)

- PvP Mech Battles

- Shops and Apartments

I hope this sheds some light on the next coming VU for Planet Cyrene as well as a glimpse into our future plans. Thanks for reading and thanks for playing Planet Cyrene.

Cheers,
Kris
